Ray Elmore is a professor emeritus of East Carolina University, Greenville, N. C., where he taught for 32 years. His body of work includes pencil drawing, painting, and mixed media. He has won numerous awards and has work in the collections of North Carolina National Bank, the North Carolina Museum of Art, The Fendrick Gallery of Washington, D.C., and other galleries and private collections. Ray graduated from The Maryland Institute, College of Art in 1966 with a B.F.A. in painting and the University of Michigan with an M.F.A. in painting.

Warhol was trained as a commercial artist, and is best known for founding (or claiming to found) the Pop Art Movement in American art. He developed the technique of projecting photographic images to a silk screen, a process that enabled him to produce repetitive patterns within the same piece relatively quickly.
